Apr 14 - Virtual Event

Learn about a global community of young explorers and lifelong learners as we move Full STEAM Ahead into digital teaching and learning.

MIT FULL STEAM Ahead is a collection of resources that MIT is putting together for Teaching, Learning, Parenting and Gaming. These resources are meant as a rapid response to the need for online resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The weekly packages include:

Week 1 - Learn about what is on everyone's mind right now - COVID-19. This packages covers the topics at levels suitable for different grades. Understanding this confusing time can help manage it.

Week 2- This week will focus on invention with help from the Lemelson-MIT Program. Projects for K-12 are now online.

Week 3 - Exploring and Living in Outer Space! A series of activities that explore topics ranging from designing and launching satellites to eating in space.

Week 4 - Making Music and Sounds with the MIT Edgerton Center

The packages are coupled with activities for different grade levels:
- Grades K-2
- Grades 3-5
- Grades 6-8
- Grades 9-12

MIT FullSTEAM mission is to create and share high quality resources to facilitate digital and non-digital learning for K-12 and lifelong learners. By providing science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) based instructional materials and an open forum for users to share insights, we aim to inspire a diverse global community of educators, students, and parents to find innovative solutions to the challenges of learning at a distance.

Eric Klopfer Professor and Director of the Scheller Teacher Education Program and The Education Arcade at MIT will talk about K-12 learning packages, and curated resources offered.  Get all your homeschooling questions answered!!
